The grants help acquire, develop, improve and maintain public recreation and facilities. Land and Water Conservation Fund : For public outdoor facilities including trails, sports fields, playgrounds, picnic facilities, campgrounds, and park support facilities such as parking or restrooms.

County Opportunity : Awarded to counties to develop, improve or plan county-operated camping facilities. Local Government : For public outdoor facilities including trails, sports fields, playgrounds, picnic facilities, campgrounds, and park support facilities such as parking or restrooms.

Recreational Trails : For motorized and non-motorized trail development and restoration projects. All-Terrain Vehicle : For motorized trails including operations and maintenance, law enforcement, development, planning, emergency medical, and land acquisition.

The technical expertise and professional integrity of each of these individuals are unmatched. They are also amazing people and we miss them very much. In addition to these departures and for a completely different reason, we are also losing longtime state archaeologist Dennis Griffin, to retirement on August 31 st.
